When I first began studying astrology, I had a sense that the information contained in the birth chart - a map of the sky at the time of one's birth - would contain much more relevant information than the pop astrologers' perpetuation of "Sun Sign Astrology": a personality description and the often false prediction of daily events based on the placement of the sun at the time of birth alone. I had heard the stereotypes of Sagittarius Sun for years, with only a few bits of the description fitting my personality accurately, and read embarrassing accounts of supposed financial windfalls and lucky lotto numbers in newspaper columns, cringing at the absurdity of these "predictions" just as much as the next person. As I began to learn the language of astrology and explore the landscape of my own birth chart, I discovered that the accuracy and wealth of information available to us in the birth chart is absolutely unparalleled by any other means, and in the quickest way possible.
