Autumn Equinox Cacao Ceremony
Al Quaal Recreation Area (Hosted through Joy Center)
*~A safely distanced outdoor cacao circle to more fully connect with the gifts of the Equinox, the wild Earth, and each other~*
**COST $25/person with registration deadline of Thursday, September 24 (link at bottom of page).**
Immerse yourself in the intimate healing gifts of an Autumn Equinox cacao ceremony, safely distanced, as September’s golden light begins to wane at yet another threshold point in the turning of the seasons.
The Autumn Equinox is a time of cultivating an awareness of balance, creating harmony within and without; of feeling gratitude for the gifts of the year’s harvests; of shifting our focus not only towards building happier, healthier relationships with one another, but of turning within and preparing for the Dark of the Year that is to come. Ceremonial cacao, with its rich gifts of antioxidants, super-oxygenation, creativity-boosting, intuition-awakening, and deep heart-openings (along with its heavenly sensual, rich, decadence) aids you in welcoming change with more grace and ease as you step into multi-sensory bliss, opening to embody more of your true self in these ever-changing times.
We’ll begin with a discussion on the Autumn Equinox and the astrological influences that make it an especially profound time for change this year before enjoying the rich gifts of cacao in ceremony. A group oracle card reading, channeled meditation and/or guidance, and time for sharing rounds out the circle, with shamanic hand drumming bringing you more deeply into communion with cacao and her incredible healing gifts.
*~What is Ceremonial Cacao?~*
Cacao is a fully lucid, playful plant medicine that super-oxygenates the body 30% - 40%. It contains natural MAOI inhibitors (anti-depressant), and creates new neural pathways in the brain. It is rich in minerals and is a natural aphrodisiac. Cacao is equally grounding and energizing, containing theobromine and caffeine, while many people report experiencing deeper, more peaceful sleep and lucid dreaming after drinking cacao.
Many people report bursts in creativity, feeling more aware and alert, able to navigate the present moment with greater clarity and more rooted while being more rooted in a healthy sense of self and Heart Truths. Ceremonial cacao also heightens intuition long and short-term, allows for deeper states of meditation, and brings about a greater sense of confidence, playfulness, and well-being. It has been reported by participants in past circles to aid in certain types of addiction.
Ceremonial cacao is brewed with local spring water (or other purified and ethically-sourced water), with local maple syrup and spices to make cacao's medicine more available for the body and create an even richer sensual experience. Ceremonial cacao is naturally dairy and gluten-free, and is safe for those with food allergies or pregnant/nursing mothers.
- Mask (required unless sharing in circle or drinking cacao)
- A small vessel – 2-4 oz is ideal – for cacao pour (optional). Sterile disposable cups will be provided for those who do not bring a vessel.
- Cozy layers of clothes (there is rain shelter available at the facility, and we’ll likely have a fire going in one of the grills close by), a cozy blanket – whatever keeps you warm on a potentially chilly day
- A journal and something to write, color, or draw with; any stones, crystals, or other small sacred objects that call to you
About brewing: Cacao is brewed in a fully sanitized kitchen while masked. Ceremonial cacao is gluten and dairy-free and keto-friendly, brewed with local maple syrup and/or coconut sugar, mildly spiced. For questions, please contact Jennifer at (906) 399-6326 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
